Pune: For the financial year 2026\u201327, it has come to light that the state\u2019s Registration and Stamp Duty Department has proposed a 10% increase in Ready Reckoner rates in Pune. The Agrawal Marwadi Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Education (AMCCIE) has strongly opposed this proposal.
Rajesh Agarwal, National President of AMCCIE, stated that the prices of land, cement, steel, labour and other construction materials have already increased significantly. As a result, housing prices have already risen sharply, making it extremely difficult for common citizens, middle-class families and young people to purchase their own homes. In such a situation, if Ready Reckoner rates in Pune are increased by another 10%, the cost of stamp duty and property transactions will rise substantially, pushing the dream of home ownership even further away for common people.
He further stated that Pune is one of Maharashtra\u2019s fastest-growing industrial and IT hubs, and the real estate and construction sectors are key pillars of the city\u2019s economy. These sectors provide direct and indirect employment to lakhs of people. However, frequent increases in Ready Reckoner rates negatively affect property transactions, reduce investments and slow down market momentum.
